Luis Miguel Salvador (born February 26, 1968 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican football player in the position of striker . He currently works in the management of his former club, CF Monterrey .

Life

Salvador began his professional career in the 1989/90 season with his hometown club Atlante , with which he won the Mexican championship in the 1992/93 season . After six years at Atlante, he moved to CF Monterrey in 1995. After two years with the Rayados he signed with Atlético Celaya , where he was under contract for the following two and a half years until the end of 1999. During the winter break of the 1999/00 season, he returned to his roots and let his active career end in the Torneo Clausura 2000 at Atlante.

National team

Salvador made his debut in the dress of the Mexican national team on February 10, 1993 in a 2-0 win over Romania. His last international match was on July 17, 1995 in a goalless encounter with the USA.

Salvador scored his first international goal in a game played on June 29, 1993 against Costa Rica, which was won 2-0. His most successful international match was the encounter with Jamaica (6-1) on July 22, 1993, when he scored three goals.

The highlight of his national team career was participating in the 1994 World Cup , in which he played in the preliminary round match against Ireland (2-1), in which he came on for Carlos Hermosillo ten minutes before the end .
