Luis Romera Oñate (born September 15, 1962 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish Roman Catholic theologian . From 2008 to 2016 he was rector of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome.

Life

Luis Romera studied geosciences in Barcelona, then Catholic theology and philosophy in Pamplona and Rome. PhD in philosophy from the University of Navarra . He was ordained a priest on October 6, 1990 in Spain. He is professor of metaphysics and the philosophical doctrine of God at the Pontifical University of Santa Croce in Rome . He is a full member of the Pontifical Academy of St. Thomas Aquinas .

From 2008 to 2016 he was rector of the Roman Pontifical University of the Holy Cross (PUSC).

His teaching and research areas are natural theology , philosophy of religion and topics of metaphysics such as the meaning of life , meaning and time and finitude and transcendence .
