Luiz Henrique Rosa (born November 25, 1938 in Tubarão , Santa Catarina , † July 9, 1985 in Florianópolis ) was a Brazilian singer and guitarist who played bossa nova in the second half of the 1960s .

He was first noticed outside of Brazil when he and Oscar Brown, Jr. recorded the album Finding A New Friend in 1965 . In particular, the Laia Ladaia contained on it was received with goodwill in jazz circles, which prompted the Verve label to give Henrique a chance as a solo performer and to release his album Barra Limpa in 1967 .

Apparently Verve was pleased with the reaction to the album, because the following year the label released a collaboration between Henrique and Bobby Hackett and Billy Butterfield : the album Bobby, Billy, Brasil . The album Popcorn , recorded with Walter Wanderley , was also released there in 1969.

The singer stayed in the USA until 1971, but then returned to Brazil (Florianópolis). In 1976 he released his last LP, Mestiço . Luiz Henrique died in a traffic accident in 1985 at the age of 46.
