Luka Brajkovic (born June 26, 1999 in Feldkirch ) is an Austrian basketball player who is currently active for the Davidson Wildcats in the NCAA in the United States . The center is considered to be one of the greatest talents in Austrian basketball.

career

Brajkovic started playing basketball in his hometown Feldkirch, and in 2015 he moved to the Dornbirn Lions in the 2nd Bundesliga .

Several universities in the United States showed interest in the young player, in the summer of 2017 Brajkovic paid a visit to Davidson College (US state North Carolina ), but initially decided to continue his development in Dornbirn. A move to Germany, which was also being considered, did not take place.

In March 2018 it was announced that Brajkovic would move to Davidson College in North Carolina after the season. In his first year in the United States, he played 34 games for the team and averaged 11.1 points and six rebounds per encounter.

National team

In the summer of 2015 he took part in the B-European Championship with the Austrian U16 national team, and in the following year he also played with the U18 team in the B-EM tournament. At the B-European Championship (again age range U18) in the summer of 2017, Brajkovic posted top statistics with averages of 18.6 points and 10.6 rebounds per match. In summer 2019 he was appointed to Austria's national men's team for the first time.
