Mazamua

Mazamua or Zamua and Lullumu ( Akkadian KUR Mazamu / Lullumu , Babylonian URU Mazamua / Zamua ) was an Iron Age region with several small kingdoms and bordered on Parsua , Namri and Hubuschkia . The center was in the valley of Sulaimaniyya .
Historical course
Assur-Nasirpal II named the country Lullumu, made it in 881 BC. After the kings of Mazamua made an alliance with Nur-Adad from the kingdom of Dagara . The pass of Bazian was made impassable with a wall. Nevertheless, the region was subdued at the end of the year. 880 BC Another campaign followed because the kings Ameka and Araštu ( akk . Uraštu) refused to pay tribute. The Ammali fortress , into which Araštu took refuge, was captured and cremated. Parts of the population were then deported to Nimrud . 843 BC Reported Shalmaneser III. during his campaign that the locals built reed boats that they also used against the Assyrian army.
In 733 BC Mazamua was under Tiglath-Pileser III. an Assyrian province. During the reign of Sargon II , who improved the local infrastructure and built new structures, no uprisings were reported. However, Sargon II noted new immigrants from the east who could pose a threat.
