history

The area has been inhabited since Gallo-Roman times. The remains of a villa from this period have been found around 300 meters from today's village. Later a settlement was built south of today's place, of which there are no more traces. The castle was built first in the Middle Ages. The place was then built around the castle. The community belonged to the district of Auch from 1793 to 1801. It has been part of the Auch arrondissement since 1801. From 1793 to 2015 the municipality belonged to the canton of Vic-Fezensac (sometimes called Vic-sur-Losse). The previously independent municipality of Saint-Yors was incorporated in 1839.
