Duran ( Gascon identical) is a French municipality with 870 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Gers in the region Occitania . It belongs to the arrondissement Auch and the canton Gascogne-Auscitaine . Duran is also a member of the Grand Auch Cœur de Gascogne community association, which was founded in 2001 . The inhabitants are called Durannais (es) .

Duran is about three kilometers northwest of the city of Auch . Duran is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Castin in the north and northwest and also by Auch .
