Riguepeu ( Gaskognisch Rigapeu ) is a French commune with 204 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Auch and the canton of Fezensac . Riguepeu is also a member of the Artagnan de Fezensac community association founded in 2003 . The inhabitants are called Riguepeulois (es) .

location

Riguepeu lies west of the Osse in the valley of the Osse. The village and numerous small settlements and farmsteads belong to the community. The place is about 20 kilometers west of the small town Auch in the center of the Gers department. The city of Tarbes is around 51 kilometers to the south-west.

history

The community belonged to the district of Auch from 1793 to 1801. It has been part of the Auch arrondissement since 1801. From 1793 to 2015 the municipality belonged to the canton of Vic-Fezensac (sometimes called Vic-sur-Losse).
