Blanquefort ( Gaskognisch Blancafòrt ) is a French commune with 57 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitanie region ; it belongs to the arrondissement Auch and the municipality association Coteaux Arrats Gimone . Its inhabitants call themselves Blanquefortois / Blanquefortoises .

geography

Blanquefort is around 18 kilometers east-northeast of the city, also in the east of the Gers department. The community consists of a few groups of houses and individual farmsteads. The Arrats crosses the municipality and partially forms a natural municipality boundary. In terms of traffic, the community is located on the D928 a few kilometers north of the N124 .

history

In the Middle Ages, the place was within the county of Haut-Armagnac, which was part of the province of Gascogne. The community belonged to the District of Auch from 1793 to 1801. In addition, Blanquefort was within the canton of Gimont from 1793 to 2015 . The municipality has been assigned to the arrondissement Auch since 1801.
