Justian is a French commune with 118 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the Arrondissement Auch and to the Artagnan de Fezensac community association founded in 2003 . The inhabitants call themselves Justianais .
geography
Justian is located in the Armagnac region on the Osse River , about 34 kilometers northwest of Auch and 60 kilometers south-southwest of Agen . The community consists of several small villages, hamlets and individual farms. The hamlet of Justian with the Mairie is relatively central. The village church of Saint-Maurice is located in the hamlet of Le Presbytère . Other villages in the municipality are Le Bourdieu, Gillet as the largest village, Tichanéron, Randé, Le Prat, Les Communs, Camp du Bosc, Lassalle, Castay, Labat, Lasserre, Las Tachouères, Hourton, Picas, Mahé, Lassénat and Courrouscau . The terrain in the municipality is characterized by rolling hills. West of the Osse a change of fields, hedges and pastures defines the landscape, in the hills east of the Osse river valley wine is grown. In the far east of the municipality there is a small remnant of forest. Justian is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Roques in the north, Bezolles in the east, Vic-Fezensac in the south-east, Mourède in the south and south-west, Lannepax in the west (point of contact) and Courrensan in the north-west.

In the agricultural community of Justian, wines are produced that are approved for the production of the Armagnac brandy . In addition to a winery in the Camp de Bosc district , Justian has 13 farms that specialize in the cultivation of grain and oilseeds.
