Lussan ( Gaskognisch same name) is a French commune with 228 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitanie region ; it belongs to the arrondissement Auch and the municipality association Coteaux Arrats Gimone . Its inhabitants call themselves Lussanais / Lussanaises .

geography

Lussan is about 12 kilometers east-southeast of the city, also in the east of the Gers department. The community consists of the village of Lussan and numerous individual farms. The Arrats partially forms the eastern municipal boundary. In terms of traffic, the community is located on the D149 around one kilometer south of the N124 . The N21 also only passes a few kilometers to the west.

history

In the Middle Ages, the place was within the county of Haut-Armagnac, which was part of the province of Gascogne. The community belonged to the District of Auch from 1793 to 1801. In addition, Lussan was from 1793 to 2015 within the canton of Gimont . The municipality has been assigned to the arrondissement Auch since 1801.
