Mirepoix ( Gascon : Mirapeish ) is a French commune with 225 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitanie region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the arrondissement Auch and the canton Gascogne-Auscitaine (until 2015 Auch-Nord-Ouest ). Mirepoix is also a member of the Grand Auch Cœur de Gascogne community association founded in 2001 . The inhabitants are called Mirepécien (ne) s .
location
Mirepoix is about ten kilometers north-northeast of the city of Auch . Mirepoix is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Gavarret-sur-Aulouste and Miramont-Latour in the north, Tourrenquets in the east, Crastes in the southeast, Montaut-les-Créneaux in the south, Preignan in the southwest and Sainte-Christie in the west.
