Juilles ( Gaskognisch Julhas ) is a French commune with 220 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitanie region ; it belongs to the arrondissement Auch and the municipality association Coteaux Arrats Gimone . Its inhabitants call themselves Juillois / Juilloises .

geography

Juilles is located on a hill about 20 kilometers east-southeast of the city. Also in the east of the Gers department. The community consists of the village of Juilles, several hamlets and individual farms. The Gimone forms the eastern boundary of the municipality. In terms of traffic, the community is several kilometers south of the N124 .

history

In the Middle Ages, the place was within the county of Astarac, which was part of the province of Gascony. The community belonged to the District of Auch from 1793 to 1801. In addition, Juilles was within the canton of Gimont from 1793 to 2015 . The municipality has been assigned to the arrondissement Auch since 1801. In 1947 part of the parish split off to form the new parish of Saint-Caprais .
