The former Mairie

Marchais-en-Brie is a village of 335 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the French department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France . The formerly independent community there belonged to the canton of Essômes-sur-Marne in the arrondissement of Château-Thierry . By decree of 10 September 2015, it was merged with Artonges , La Celle-sous-Montmirail and Fontenelle-en-Brie to form the Commune nouvelle Dhuys et Morin-en-Brie with effect from 1 January 2016 . It has since been a commune déléguée and the main town (chief lieu) of the newly formed community.
