The castle belonged to a long line of landlord families , first vassals of the English king, then of the Count of Armagnac. At the beginning of the 18th century, the Pardailhan family had the castle rebuilt. In the 19th century the building was enlarged and completed. The castle and park are located on a rocky promontory, the access to which is via an avenue of cedar trees lined with outbuildings and Antoine de Melet's distillery . The castle building has a rectangular floor plan and is built on the rock that is visible in its large cellars, where the foundation of the former donjon is. The terrace is located above an orangery , which is provided with a barrel vault . Inside there are, among other things, a staircase in the Louis quatorze style, two columned halls from the 19th century and rooms with paneling in the Louis quinze style. Parts of the castle have been inscribed as a Monument historique since June 15, 1976 . It is privately owned, but the distillery can be visited.
