Roquefort ( Gascon : Ròcahòrt ) is a French municipality with 296 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Gers in the region Occitania (before 2016 Midi-Pyrenees ). It belongs to the arrondissement Auch and the canton Gascogne-Auscitaine ( Jegun until 2015 ). Roquefort is also a member of the Grand Auch Cœur de Gascogne community association founded in 2001 .

Roquefort is about ten kilometers north of the city of Auch on the river Gers , which borders the municipality to the east. Roquefort is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Puységur in the north, Sainte-Christie in the east, Roquelaure in the south, Peyrusse-Massas in the south and south-west, Mérens in the west and south-west and Lavardens in the west and north-west.
