Mairie Montiron

Montiron ( same name in Gaskognisch ) is a French commune with 140 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitania region ; it belongs to the arrondissement Auch and the municipality association Coteaux Arrats Gimone . Its inhabitants call themselves Montironais / Montironaises .

geography

Montiron is located around 22 kilometers east-southeast of the city. Also in the southeast of the Gers department. The community consists of the village of Montiron, a few groups of houses and individual farmsteads. The Gimone forms the western, the Marcaoue partly the eastern municipal boundary . In terms of traffic, the community is a few kilometers south of the N124 .

history

In the Middle Ages, the place was within the Gimois rule, which was part of the province of Gascony. The parish belonged to the District of L'Isle-Jourdain from 1793 to 1801. The parish was assigned to the arrondissement of Lombès (Lombez) ​​from 1801 to 1926. This was dissolved and the community has been part of the arrondissement of Auch since 1926.
