Puylausic ( Occitan : Poilausic , between 1793 and 1801 also with the spelling Puilauzic ) is a French commune with 163 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitania region (until 2015 Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the arrondissement Auch and to the Savès community association founded in 2002 . The inhabitants call themselves Puylausicains .
geography
The municipality of Puylausic is located in a sparsely populated but intensively used agricultural area in the southeast of the Gers department, 50 kilometers southwest of Toulouse . The eastern municipal boundary is partially formed by the river Aussoue , the north-western municipal boundary by its tributary Espienne . In between, there is a gentle, poorly forested hill country. The highest point in the 9.84 km² municipal area is the 299 m high Tupe de Lozes , crowned by a water tower. The largest of the numerous hamlets are Nizet, La Pérère, Les Bordes, Puylausic, En Bole and En Marche . Puylausic is bordered by the neighboring communities of Samatan in the north, Sauvimont in the east, Montégut-Savès in the southeast, Saint-Lizier-du-Planté in the south, Garravet in the southwest, Montadet in the west and Lombez in the northwest.
history
Remains from the Gallo-Roman era have been found around today's cemetery . The church at the cemetery was dilapidated in the 18th century and was demolished in 1795. The current church dates from 1758.

In 1846 the highest level to date was determined with 592 inhabitants.
Attractions
The parish church of Saint-Martin is an example of rural architecture, inside with a silver processional cross from the late 18th century. A remarkable inscription on the gate to the cemetery is from Pierre Magnoac . Two hall crosses and a water tower are also worth seeing.
Economy and Infrastructure
There are 21 farms in the municipality of Puylausic (grain cultivation, cattle, goat and sheep breeding).
The D626 trunk road from Lombez to Carbonne runs through the municipality of Puylausic . There is a connection to the A 64 car route in the municipality of Longages , 30 kilometers south-east . There is also a train station on the Toulouse – Bayonne railway line here .
