The canton of Val de Save is a French constituency in the arrondissement of Auch , in the department of Gers and in the region of Occitania . The capital of the canton is Samatan.
geography
The canton is located in the south of the department on the border with the Haute-Garonne department .
history
The canton was created on March 22, 2015 as part of the reorganization of the cantons. Until 2015, its municipalities belonged to the cantons of Lombez (24 municipalities), Samatan (15 municipalities) and L'Isle-Jourdain (1 municipality).

Elections to the Council of the Gers Department
In the elections on March 22, 2015 for the 2015–2021 term, no party achieved a majority. In the runoff election in the second ballot on March 29, 2015, the pairing Jean-Pierre Cot / Yvette Ribes (Union de la gauche) against Marie-Christine Bisognani / Guy Larée (Divers droite) won with a share of the vote of 50.93% (voter turnout : 64.49%).
