Mourède ( Gascon : Moreda ) is a French municipality with 86 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Gers in the region Okzitanien ; it belongs to the arrondissement Auch and to the community association Communauté de communes d'Artagnan de Fezensac .

geography

Mourède is located around 29 kilometers northwest of the small town. Also in the northwest of the Gers department and belongs to the Armagnac brandy area .

The hamlets of Cardeillac and Mourède as well as some farms are part of the municipality.

history

After the phylloxera crisis that destroyed the vineyards, many people moved away in the 19th century. The mechanization of agriculture led to further emigration in the 20th century. Historically, Mourède belongs to the Comté de (Vic-) Fezensac region within Gascony. The place belonged from 1793 to 1801 to the District Condom. Also from 1793 to 1801 to the canton of Lannepax and 1801 to 2015 to the canton of Eauze .
