L'Isle-Arné ( Gaskognisch L'Isleta e Arnès ) is a French commune with 180 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitania region ; it belongs to the arrondissement Auch and the municipality association Coteaux Arrats Gimone . Its inhabitants call themselves L'Ilois / L'Iloises .

geography

L'Isle-Arné is located around 15 kilometers east-southeast of the city. Also in the southeast of the Gers department. The community consists of the village of L'Isle-Arné, the hamlet of Castanet , a few groups of houses and individual farmsteads. The Arrats partially forms the western municipal boundary. In terms of traffic, the community is a few kilometers south of the N124 .

history

In the Middle Ages, the place was within the county of Haut-Armagnac, which was part of the province of Gascogne. The community belonged to the District of Auch from 1793 to 1801. In addition, L'Isle-Arné was within the canton of Gimont from 1793 to 2015 . The municipality has been assigned to the arrondissement Auch since 1801. In 1821, the previously independent municipality of L'Ile-sur-Imonde (1821: 137 inhabitants) was incorporated into the municipality of L'Isle-Arné.
