Luminitza Petre

Luminitza Petre is a Romanian violinist , conductor and concertmaster with the Württemberg State Orchestra Stuttgart .

biography

After high school and university studies with Valeriu Rogacev and Cornelia Bronzetti in Bucharest , Luminitza Petre completed master classes with Stefan Gheorghiu and Zachar Bron in Vienna . The conductors Carlo Maria Giulini, Michael Gielen, Sir Roger Norrington and Helmut Rilling have shaped her musical development. As a student, she performed as a soloist with Romanian orchestras.

After teaching as the leader of a violin class at the Bucharest Conservatory, she is a lecturer at the Baden-Württemberg State Youth Orchestra. Her repertoire includes solo concerts and chamber music by JS Bach, Beethoven, all Mozart concerts, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Enescu and contemporary works.

Petre has taken master classes with Jorma Panula (Royal Academy Stockholm), Sir Colin Matters (Royal Academy London), Salvatore Masconde, Vienna. She has conducted in Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Heilbronn, Vogtland, Moscow and Romania - Radio Chamber Orchestra Bucharest, Oradea Philharmonic Orchestra and in Kronstadt the opera “Cosi van tutte” by WA Mozart. She plays on a " Matteo Gofriller " violin (Venice-1690).

Prizes and awards

Luminitza Petre is the winner of the international competitions “Tibor Varga”, “Rodolfo Lipizer”, “Dinu Lipatti” and “George Enescu”. Her double CD with the sonatas and partitas for solo violin by JS Bach was nominated for the "Academy Award" in Tokyo 2006.
