Duda gained his first musical experience as a child while taking piano lessons. Instead of practicing at home, he preferred to spend the time composing his own melodies. On a first simple synthesizer he tried to emulate his models Tony Banks , Rick Wakeman and Eddie Jobson . Through her he got into the field of progressive rock .
Mariusz Duda says of himself that he could never limit himself to a single instrument and that he would focus more on composing and not on instrument mastery.
In 2001 he was a founding member of the band Riverside and is still their singer and bassist today.

In 2008 the debut album of his solo project Lunatic Soul was released , on which he played acoustic guitar, keyboard and kalimba in addition to vocals and bass. Guest musicians include drummer Wawrzyniec Dramowicz ( Indukti ) and Hammond organist Michał Łapaj.
As a consistent concept, the album deals with the subject of death from different perspectives. The song Summerland describes a funeral from the perspective of the deceased and Lunatic Soul describes the journey through a long, dark tunnel to the afterlife.
The second album of the solo project was released on October 25, 2010. Duda describes this white album (reference to the artwork), in contrast to his debut album, as more intense and unsettling. However, there should also be passages of lightness. Various guest musicians are represented, including Maciej Szelenbaum and again the drummer Wawrzyniec Dramowicz ( Indukti ). Thematically, this album is related to its predecessor. It describes the second part of a hike through the underworld, which is contested by a lost soul.
The first single Wanderings has already been announced.
