The in -timbered built sacred building has a tent form - a reference to the discontinuity in the world. In 1851 the church was given a roof turret and in 1895 it was extended to the west by two beam fans. It has been called the Luther Church since 1933.

The bell of the church is the oldest still existing bronze bell from the Lauchhammer foundry . The casting took place in 1852. It has a diameter of 51 cm and weighs 76 kg. It is operated by hand. The tin altar devices from a previous chapel from 1661 are still in use today. In 1956, the church received a small slider-chest organ. The Luther Church was reconstructed from 1989 to 1996. There is a memorial stone for Martin Luther on the outside of the choir.

The Luther Church is one of the architectural monuments in Schwarzheide . The parish of Lauchhammer and Schwarzheide is part of the Bad Liebenwerda parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
