The village of Zschornegosda was probably created as a Rundling by the Wendish population. In 1449 it was mentioned for the first time as a Cschörnegast in a loan letter. The place belongs to the Senftenberg district of Saxony . As a result of the Congress of Vienna, the Office arrived and with it Zschornegosda 1815 to the Kingdom of Prussia , it belonged to the district Calau the province of Brandenburg .

After raw lignite was found on the Bockwitzer Flur west of Zschornegosda in 1789, a briquette factory was also established in Zschornegosda in 1897. This was called Ferdinand . The lignite was extracted in the Ferdinand mine, southwest of Zschornegosda . This was opened up as the Luise pit in 1892 .

On October 1, 1936, Zschornegosda was combined with the neighboring Naundorf to form the industrial community of Schwarzheide. The artificial name is - as was common under National Socialist rule - a German translation of the Sorbian name Zschornegosda, black for čorny and heather for gozd . The vacant lot between the two locations was closed by factory settlements for the BRABAG plant east of the location .
