The former Lutherse Kerk in Vlissingen

The Lutherse Kerk is a former Evangelical Lutheran parish church in Vlissingen in the Dutch province of Zeeland . The sacred building is a simple hall church which has been inserted into a street front in the old town at Walstraat 23.

history

The Lutheran congregation in Vlissingen was able to consecrate its own church building in 1735, and it was expanded as early as 1778, for which Willem V contributed 200 ducats. In 1890 there were 350 members in the community, but their number steadily decreased. From 1922 only one clergyman worked in the Lutheran parishes in Vlissingen and Middelburg . The 1953 storm surge severely damaged the building. In 1985, the 250th anniversary of the community was celebrated, which in 1989 had to merge with Middelburg and Sluis -Groede due to the decline in membership. The church was sold to the Hersteld Apostolische Zendinggemeente of Vlissingen. However, it is still known as the Lutherse Kerk.

organ

The organ was built in 1963 by the Van Leeuwen organ builder. The abrasive loading -instrument has registers on a manual work (g C- 3 : Quintadeen 16 ', Prestant 8', Holpijp 8 ', Octaaf 4', Roerfluit 4 ', Octaaf 2', Mixtuur IV-VI). The pedal (C – f 1 ) is attached. The playing and stop actions are mechanical.
