Lutz Buschkow

Lutz Buschkow (born October 1, 1957 in Berlin (East) ) is a German trainer in water jumping .

Career

As a child, Lutz Buschkow attended the Ernst Grube children's and youth sports school in Berlin. When he was eleven years old, he began to do water jumping and took part in several children's and youth spartakiads until 1974 .

After completing his degree in physical education in 1980, he worked as a trainer at the Berlin TSC , a diving center in the German Democratic Republic (GDR).

In 1991, Buschkow became a national base trainer in Berlin and national water jumping trainer for the areas of sighting and youth.

After the European Championships in the summer of 2002 , Lutz Buschkow was appointed head national coach water diving by the German Swimming Association (DSV) and thus succeeded Ursula Klinger , as she was promoted to sport director water diving.

From 1993 Buschkow was active in the works council of the DSV. In the first year as deputy chairman, from 1994 then as chairman until 2008.

From autumn 2008 to the end of 2016, Buschkow succeeded Örjan Madsen as competitive sports director of the DSV and continued to be the head of the national diving coach. He gave up the post at the end of 2016 because of the double burden and has been the head national coach for water jumping ever since.

successes

As a federal base trainer in Berlin, he trained a. a. successful Holger Schlepps (two medals at the 1998 World Championships) and Anke Piper (three medals at the European Championships).

Under his leadership as head national water diving coach, over 100 international medals were won for the German Swimming Association from 2002 to 2017: 4 medals at the Olympic Games , 16 medals at world championships and 86 medals at European championships .
