Lydia Tews (born March 29, 1951 in Neustadt an der Waldnaab ) is a German crime writer .

Life

Lydia Tews studied to be a bookseller, then studied education and communication science. In Schwäbisch Gmünd she published the city magazine against pressure. She wrote a series of three crime novels with the Stuttgart inspector Elfriede Schuhmann as the heroine, who is quoted once in a Bienzle crime novel by Felix Huby .

All three novels appeared in Knaur's silver crime series. Her crime novels are characterized by a certain lightness, especially in the description and characterization of the people (and the female characters) and a clear preference for the alternative milieu. Mueslis, punks, the left-wing of the time are portrayed in the corresponding scenes in the novels as an anti-bourgeois idyll.

At the same time, the police and the state organs in general are criticized.

Lydia Tews belongs to the association of German-speaking crime writers Das Syndikat .
