Lygdamis (father of Artemisia)
Lygdamis ( Greek Λύγδαμις ) was the father of Artemisia I and probably her predecessor as a dynast over the Polis Halicarnassus under Persian suzerainty. He ruled in the early 5th century BC. Before his daughter took over the role of dynastess as guardian of her underage son Pisindelis.
