Lynn Renee Job (* 1959 in South Dakota ) is an American composer and poet.

Job studied music at California State University, Fullerton (until 1982) and at the University of North Texas , where she received her doctorate in 1998. In 1989 she took part in a research trip to Qumran ( Judean Desert Exploration and Excavation Project ), served as a reservist in the US Army Signal Corps during the Second Gulf War and worked for ten years in the field of radar technology for Texas Instruments . In 1999 she participated as Poet in Residence at the symposium The Muse and the Mirror at Tinity College in Dublin, and in 2002 she participated in the symposium Teaching Poetry in Santa Rosa. In 2004 she was nominated for the Texas State Poet Laureate .

In 1999 she founded Buckthorn Studios with the three departments Buckthorn Music Press , Buckthorn Books and Buckthorn Records , of which she is the director. From 2000 to 2007 she worked in the administration of the College of Music at the University of North Texas , from 2007-08 she taught at North Central Texas College

Her compositions include works for solo instruments and chamber music as well as great orchestral and vocal works. She often uses religious texts for her vocal compositions. She has received multiple awards from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). In 2003 the University of Central Oklahoma held a four-day festival of their works.
