The MAV series XXIe was a narrow gauge - tank locomotive of the Hungarian State Railways (MÁV) for track width 760 mm ( Bosnian track ).
history
This narrow-gauge locomotive was the standard locomotive of the MÁVAG locomotive factory for a lighter superstructure with an axle load of 4.4 t . The locomotives could move 170 t at 20 km / h on the level route and 55 t at 10 km / h on a gradient of 25 ‰. When fired with high-quality coal, their output was 220 hp.
The information about the locomotives produced varies. In Hungarian locomotives and railcars Machine is spoken by eight based on the narrow-gauge network to Sibiu were on duty; The web links speak of 18 locomotives. Presumably machines were also made for private forest railways, which later came to the MÁV . The use of two locomotives at the Oravská lesná železnica (OLŽ) as the U 45.9 series is documented .
A MÁVAG factory type 85 locomotive has been preserved on the Széchenyi Museum Railway .
technical features
Technically, the locomotives corresponded to the MAVAG factory type 70 , only with a smaller boiler and drive system.
They also had a counter-pressure brake according to le Cetalelier due to their use on steep slopes .
