Mário Cardoso

Mário Manuel Cardoso de Araújo (born January 24, 1950 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese actor , voice actor and dubbing director.

Life

Cardoso is best known in Brazil as an actor in films and series. At the beginning of his career he also worked as a model. The first major television appearance was that of Robin Hood in the film Robin Hood, O Trapalhão da Floresta (1974). As "Augusto" in the 1975 telenovela "A moreninha", he gained a certain degree of fame with the Brazilian audience. He became internationally known in the leading role of Henrique Fontoura in the telenovela Die Sklavin Isaura (1976) at the side of his series partner Elisa Fernandes . He also had important roles in the series "A Sucessora" (1978) and "Coraçao alado" (1980). From the late 1980s he regularly took time off from television and worked in his actual job: as a psychologist. Mario Cardoso lives separated from his wife, with whom he has two children. At the moment he works mainly as a voice actor and director of dubbing. In the 1970s, he was considered a major male sex symbol in Brazil.
