Marton Vincze

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Márton Vincze , in Germany also Martin Vincze (born November 17, 1904 in Budapest , Austria-Hungary , † January 11, 1941 in Budapest) was a Hungarian film architect .

Live and act

Vincze received his artistic training in the second half of the 1920s and, at the beginning of the sound film age in Hungary (1930), joined domestic film as a production designer. In just a decade he designed the sets for around one hundred films, including a considerable number of co-productions with Germany and Austria. A number of the films that he designed were also German-language versions of Hungarian films in which numerous Jews who fled Hitler's Germany took part. Productions by Hermann Kosterlitz , István Székely , Géza von Bolváry , Hubert Marischka , Karel Lamač and even Veit Harlan showed his building designs. Vincze died completely unexpectedly at the beginning of 1941, only 36 years young. Nothing is currently known about the circumstances of his untimely death.
