Mäckersee

The Mäckersee is a small lake of approx. 400 m long and up to 250 m wide in Eberswalde in the Barnim district ( Brandenburg ) south of the Oder-Havel Canal . Its vertex can be drained into the Mäckersee using a system with a Hottopsche lifter . The water continues to flow in the south through a 1.1 km long canal, the Mäckerseekanal, into the Finowkanal and further into the Oder . The lake is one of the so-called other federal inland waterways; The Eberswalde Waterways and Shipping Office is responsible .

The lake is only surrounded by forest. There is a trout farm on the bank. It can only be reached on forest paths that are approved for cars .

The lake is a popular recreational destination, especially for the surrounding allotment garden owners.

The lake is named after Herrmann Mäcker, who owned a brick factory in Heegermühle.
