The Moravian-Wallachian dialect in the context of the Moravian dialects

The Moravian-Wallachian dialect is spoken in northeast Moravia and belongs to the Czech-West Slovak dialect continuum . In the north it borders on the Lachish dialects ( lašská nářečí ) of Czech, in the west on the Central Moravian dialects of Hanna and in the south on the East Moravian dialects of Moravian Slovakia ( Moravské Slovácko ), to which it is most similar. In the north of the language area around Frenštát ( Frankstadt ) there are transitional phenomena such as no phonological length or secondary palatalization . As in other mountain areas affected by Wallachian colonization , it contains many Carpathians .
