history

The company was founded in 1967 as a petrol station with used car sales. Until the mid-1980s, the company carried out individual, smaller company takeovers and expanded its business activities to include the sale of accessories and lubricants as well as the trade in heating oil and fuel.

From 1989 the company expanded through various larger takeovers, which in 1998 were bundled into the three divisions Automotive, Industry and Energy under the umbrella of Métraux Services SA. The IPO followed in 2000 . In 2001 the company sold its energy division and expanded to Belgium with the acquisition of AD Belgium and AD Ernotte, which were merged in 2004.

In 2006, the company also sold its Industry division in order to concentrate on the sale of automotive spare parts. In 2007 Métraux Services took over Remco Belgium NV in Belgium, which specializes in the sale of spare parts for trucks and trailers.

In 2009 Métraux Services merged with Derendinger AG to form the Swiss Automotive Group . The listing of Métraux Services SA was then discontinued.
