The Derendinger AG , headquartered in Dietlikon is a Swiss provider of vehicle spare parts . It operates 31 branches throughout Switzerland with an attached workshop , where it sells spare and wear parts for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, motorcycles and scooters as well as heavy commercial vehicles, construction machinery, agricultural machinery and forklifts. In addition, the company also offers vehicle-independent products in the areas of lubricants , maintenance products, care products, tools and garage facilities as well as parts for various branches of industry .
The company was founded in 1930 by Jean-Jacques Derendinger and initially dealt with the reconditioning of brakes and clutches. Over the course of time, Derendinger expanded its business activities to include auto parts and later to other business areas. The result was a group of companies that is now also active in the real estate business with Derendinger Immobilien AG . The Derendinger Group employs a total of more than 1,000 people, 650 of whom work in the vehicle spare parts sector, and in 2006 generated sales of 275 million Swiss francs.
In 2009 Derendinger merged with Métraux Services SA to form the Swiss Automotive Group . Since then, Derendinger has been operating as an independent company under the umbrella of SAG.
Derendinger AG has already attracted negative attention because they charge excessive prices for auto parts on the Swiss market. Cartel-like structures prevent competition between spare parts sellers in Switzerland.
