México lindo y querido

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

México lindo y querido is a popular Mexican folk song written and composed by Chucho Monge . For many Mexicans - especially those who live abroad - it has become a kind of “second national anthem ”.

history

The song is identified throughout Hispanic with Mexico and the Mexicans' homeland love for their country. Because it tells of the desire to be brought back to Mexico and buried there in the event of death far from home.

The song was made famous by Jorge Negrete , who ironically died outside Mexico, in Los Angeles , and was then transferred to Mexico, where his body was buried on the Panteón Civil de Dolores of Mexico City .

The song has also been recorded by many other performers, including Vicente Fernández , Alejandro Fernández and Ana Gabriel . In 2012, more than 50 Mexican artists (including Lila Downs ) recorded the song together as part of the Playing for Change project .

refrain

Spanish German translation

México lindo y querido,
si muero lejos de ti,
que digan que estoy dormido
y que me traigan aquí

Beautiful and beloved Mexico.
If I die far away from you, they
should say that I sleep
and bring me here.
