Míchel Salgado (born October 22, 1975 in As Neves , Pontevedra province ; real life Miguel Ángel Salgado Fernández ) is a former Spanish football player .

Career

societies

The right full-back started his career at Celta Vigo in 1994 . In 1996 he was loaned to the Spanish second division UD Salamanca for one season before playing for another two years at Celta, where he became one of the most famous players. In 1999 Salgado finally moved to Real Madrid . With the "Royal" he was able to win the Spanish championship four times and the Champions League twice. In 2009, the contract with Real Madrid was terminated by mutual agreement. On August 19, 2009 he was signed by the Blackburn Rovers.

National team

He made his debut in the Spanish national football team on September 5, 1998 in a 2: 3 defeat against Cyprus . He played a total of 53 internationals by 2006 and was part of the Spanish final squad at the Euro 2000 in the Netherlands and Belgium and at the 2006 World Cup in Germany - he missed the two tournaments in between due to injury.
