The mill pond as a former moat is a remnant of the city fortifications of Düren in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The mill pond is part of the outer moat ring of the Düren city fortifications and is located at the Altenteich city fortifications . The fastening of the bank consists of old wooden rods. The path, parallel to the course of the pond, is originally a promenade that was laid out at the beginning of the 19th century.
