The Dieter-Renz-Halle is a sports hall in the North Rhine-Westphalian city ​​of Bottrop in the Ruhr area . It was opened in 1971 and is named after the amateur boxer Dieter Renz , who died in an accident in 1969 at the age of 26. It is the largest sports hall in the city.

On March 6, 1996, the hall was completely destroyed by fire . The fire started while welding work on the roof. In 1998 the hall was reopened.
