The Mühlkapelle Krumbach is a baroque chapel on the right bank of the Kammel in Krumbach .

history

The Mühlkapelle was commissioned by its owner, Johann Hampp, in 1830 on the right bank of the Kammel , near the Untere Mühle - today House St. Michael . In 1926 the chapel became the property of the city of Krumbach .

Furnishing

inside view

Since the renovation, which was completed in 1932, there was a Gothic statue of the Virgin Mary ( Ulm School around 1500) in the chapel, which until then had stood in a wayside shrine by a gravel pit west of Krumbach and was in very poor condition. Before this renovation, there was a Lourdes grotto in the chapel.
The ceiling fresco depicts the Holy Spirit and the baptism of Jesus, framed by the four evangelists. It is often wrongly ascribed to Pius Fröschle (1781–1816), the son of the Swabian rococo painter Jakob Fröschle . The fresco may come from another painter from the Fröschle family.

Votive picture

In the mill chapel there is also the picture on the left, on which the following caption can be read:
“In bomb fire u. War distress,
your coat, mother, protection offered us,
The whole city thanks you,
which has found your help.

In permanent memory of the
night of April 26th and 27th
1945 and the invasion of
the Americans "
