Munich Rugby Football Club
The Munich Rugby Football Club (MRFC) is a rugby club from Munich founded in 1977 .
The 1st men's team has been playing in the 2nd Bundesliga since 1992, the 2nd men's team in the regional league since the Bavarian Rugby Association was founded . The women's teams play in the 1st Bundesliga as well as in the Regionalliga Süd (Sevens).
There is also a youth team, children's teams and an old boys team (MOB). The MRFC is Bavaria's first rugby club and was instrumental in founding the Bavarian Rugby Association.
The club has been a member of the Bavarian State Sports Association since 2009 .
Since February 2008 there has also been a development association that exclusively and directly pursues charitable purposes in the sense of the section "tax-privileged purposes" of the tax code. Various school projects were supported and various youth teams were able to take part in national events. An example: 1. SC Gröbenzell - rugby tournament in Nuremberg on October 2nd, 2011 for 4- to 13-year-olds.
