Münster-Hammer Railway Company
The Münster Hammer railway company opened on 26 May 1848, the new, about 36 km long railway line between Munster and Hamm , which thus finally became a railway junction. According to the concession agreement, the company was required to make the connection to Rheine . Since the volume of traffic and thus the income were low, the company was nationalized in 1855 due to financial difficulties.
