Lebus coin treasure

The Lebus coin treasure was discovered on October 3rd, 2015 on the slopes of the Oder between Lebus and Frankfurt (Oder) by the Lubusz amateur archaeologist Frank Slawinski. He is a volunteer ground monument conservator and, with the permission of the Brandenburg State Office for Monument Preservation, is allowed to go on an archaeological search with a metal probe . He had tracked down a good 2,300 silver coins in a clay jug. The coins are Sachsen or Hochrandpfennige . These could be assigned to the period from 1060 to 1090 AD. These include coins from the Meißen and Magdeburg area .

The find was presented to the public for the first time on January 22nd, 2016 in the museum "Haus Lebuser Land" in the city of Lebus.
