M113 ABRA is an M113 armored personnel carrier equipped with an artillery observation radar ( ABRA ), which is used by the tank artillery battalions for battlefield surveillance in the battalion's flanks and for target reconnaissance, tracking and location.

From 1976 bis 1978 were for the army 62 units of M113 chassis with the Franco-German artillery radar Ratac ( Ra is de t ir pour l ' a rtillerie de c campaign to promote or Ra is de t ir de l' a rtillerie de c campaign to promote or R adar d ' a cquisition de t ir d' a rtillerie de c ampagne ) equipped. This is housed on a retractable, 6 m long telescopic mast.

Since the 1990s, the Bundeswehr has received 35 new vehicles of the more modern version of the ABRA with the designation RATAC-S . It has a more precise and higher reconnaissance range and is ready for use faster thanks to the more modern technology or requires a shorter time to change the firing position .
