The M99 is an anti-materiel rifle from the Chinese manufacturer Zijiang .
technology
The M99 is a direct gas pressure charger with a rotating head lock . An aluminum alloy was chosen to save weight . It is one of the first Chinese weapons that a 1913 Mil-Std - mounting system use.
Versions
M99-I
The M99-I is the only rifle that really went into production. It uses the 12.7 × 108 mm caliber .
M99-II
The M99-II uses the 12.7 × 99 mm NATO caliber .
M06
In contrast to the other versions, the M06 is a Bullpup version. Instead of the rod, it uses a drum magazine.

Controversy
The M99-I as well as French sniper rifles were spotted in photos on the side of the Free Syrian Army during the Syrian War . Initially, the guns were mistaken for the Accuracy International AS50 . The question arises as to how the weapon got into the war zone. It is considered likely that Qatar supplied these weapons.
