MA'cappella is a German band from the Heidenheim area who sings a cappella . It was founded in 2009 by Gerrit Illenberger, Jan Jäger, Sebastian Jäger, Nicolas Köhler, Jens Schauz and Daniel Schmid.

history

Sebastian Jäger and Nicolas Köhler were still students when they founded a men's vocal group at their school. After the first inquiries, the members changed and Gerrit Illenberger, Jan Jäger, Jens Schauz and Daniel Schmid joined the then unnamed group. Initially, word of mouth alone made the band famous. Today they mainly perform in southern Germany and are developing "from an insider tip to a sought-after ensemble".

The six men took part in international competitions in Austria and Spain . They won five gold diplomas .

Although they now fill halls with over 1000 visitors, MA'cappella is a hobby for the sextet . The band says, "If we did it for money, it wouldn't work".

genre

The name MA'cappella is a combination of MAe men and a cappella . MA'cappella sings unplugged as well as technically amplified and sometimes also imitates instruments such as drums , a harmonica or an electric guitar .

However, the group makes purely vocal music, without instruments. In addition to this principle, the ensemble offers a varied program: Classics , sacred music , well-known pop songs or original compositions in German , English , Swabian or even Latin are presented "lively and funny".
