The MAD card game is a Uno / Mau-Mau -like satirical card game by Parker Brothers , which is based on the comics of MAD magazine .

It appeared in 1979 in the United States as Mad Magazine Card Game and in 1980 in Germany and other countries (e.g. the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Finland). On the box there is a picture of Alfred E. Neumann , the cover boy of MAD magazine.

The sheet consists of four colors (the red wool sweater series, the green leisure series, the blue knight series and the yellow space series), which are numbered from 1 to 6 and also special cards ( change of direction ; take one, you rogue ; give someone two cards ( Your hand) ) included. The motifs on the cards show Alfred E. Neumann in a different situation for each color, which gets worse as the value of the card increases. There are also colorless ones too great !! Cards that allow a color choice, some combined with other functions ( swap your cards (with whoever you want) ; Zu Toll & Wollig , the self-defense card and the joker ). The card game also contained some blank cards, which, according to the instructions, were not part of the game. You can make your own special cards from these, for example.

The rules for 2-6 players are a mixture of luck and strategy, they are essentially borrowed from Mau-Mau, parodied and supplemented with new special cards. According to the packaging, the aim of the game is to "... get rid of your cards first, but not your wits ". The recommended minimum age is 8 years.

The MAD card game is no longer in production today, but there have been at least two new editions.
