MAY is a German Indietronic group from Düsseldorf .
The group combines elements of indie rock with electro pop and synth pop . It is characteristic that the band plays live without a drummer and the drums come from the computer as a backing track .
history
MAY was founded in 2013 by the actress Maewa Oria ( vocals ), Christoph Mause ( guitar ), Carsten Schmidt ( bass , synthesizer ) and Lars Graebe ( drums ).
A first single, True Love, was released on Marx Capital Records in 2013 . At the end of 2013 the first EP Poetry for the Braindead followed . a. made it into the campus charts of university radio stations and ranked third in the local radio charts.
Lars Graebe left the band at the end of 2015 and the singer Maewa Oria retired to an ashram to complete her yoga teacher training.
Since the end of 2018, the band has been playing live again with the current line-up.
In February 2019, the band's first album, My 1st Sony , will be released on k22 music.
